A stick flew up yesterday and whacked the passengers side mirror, breaking one of the plastic clips that holds the glass in. I know one can buy seperately to the whole mirror (thank the lord), the lens with the plastic back and two clips to hold it in. It also has the two pins for the wires to attach.
Does anyone know where is the best place to get one posted to me at Mudgee NSW? I don't wish to take the 300km drive for this, but do need it pretty soon.
Thanks in advance. 2006 HSE TDV6 Bonatti Grey, ECB bull bar, tropical roof, LG Next G car kit, Tom Tom GPS, UHF, Mitchell Bros tow bar, Kimberley Kamper Limited Edition camper trailer and 23 foot Haines Signature half cabin (Towed separately!)

I can't help with the supplier, but I can advise you to buy 2
Because you will need another one if you crack the first new one when trying to fit it. Only put pressure on the new glass in the middle. They are a to fit. Good luck. Silver TDV6 HSE

Thanks Gareth, I was also looking for the tip to fit. I did fit one before and you are dead right. Can you sort of connect one clip and then push the other one over, or do you line them both up and just heave in the middle to make them both spread? 2006 HSE TDV6 Bonatti Grey, ECB bull bar, tropical roof, LG Next G car kit, Tom Tom GPS, UHF, Mitchell Bros tow bar, Kimberley Kamper Limited Edition camper trailer and 23 foot Haines Signature half cabin (Towed separately!)

I smashed My pass side mirror Nov 2006. It cost Me $108 at ULR in Melbourne. They fitted the mirror as they said I would prob. crack it trying to get it in. 3 min job for them. Prob 6 hours for Me. We'd like to know a little bit about You for our files,

PBob,
I just put a big dob of roof silicone on the back of my mirror and pushed it into place.
Still there 12 months later (and travelled the Gibb river Rd)

Yes, I considered the "blob of silicone" approach but bit the bullet and bought a new one after my wife clouted the gate reversing out of my place. i arranged for her to go into the LR service centre and the guys at Southern Land Rover were very obliging and fitted it for her on the spot. I was glad to be able to get a replacement lens ($105) as the whole assembly was quoted at $620!!! '05 D3 HSE V8, Zambezi

SKP,
Now driving round with a silicon repaired (hopefully) mirror. time will tell and if it doesn't work I'll buy a new one.

When I bought my D3 (2nd hand) November last, the driver's side mirror was cracked. I must admit that I had no problems with its removal & fitting the new one (beginner's luck?).
Best Wishes,
Peter

I might add that the "silicone alternative" was after a replacement (flat ) mirror glass (about $40) that
I fitted in 2006.
Than a complete mirror assembly (about $500, fitted by MLR) in 2007.
The mirrors could have been better designed.
I have never broken mirrors on any of my previous vehicles in over 40 years of 4WDing
