Hi,
I have had similar problems and they appear to have been caused by low battery voltage. LR Australia have advised that they had a number of problems where the battery was not originally fully conditioned or has gone flat and been recharged only by using the Disco. Subaru have also had similar problems. Since I do not use my Disco each day I use a trickle charger to keep the battery fully charged and have not had a problem since

So does that mean that the alternator is not up to the job I'm not as good as I once was........but I'm as good once as I ever was.

As far as I am aware the issue has more to do with the nature of lead acid batteries. They initially require a long "deep" charge to fully charge the battery which apparently the alternator can not achieve. Lead acid batteries need to be used regularly to perform at their best as they do lose charge and slowly deteriorate when left idle. I just leave my battery on a 1600ma trickle charge as I often only use the Disco once a week.

Guy Salmon at Coventry were excellent for an urgent screen washer failure. Booked in 20 minutes from ringing; on the road in 40 mins, no charge; politeness itself...

G'day all,
I've had my fair share of bongs and whistles over the last 2.5 years, but the latest that came up the other night when I started the car was a doozy! Not able to select gears manually, stuck at access height, and appeard to be stuck in 2nd or 3rd gear. Got a plethora of fault codes that appeared on the dash and so took a picture to show my dealer.
I was really impressed that the message centre was able to diagnose the problem by displaying a large "F" where the D is normally. I guess "F" means F*CKED right?

Obviously, all faults miraculously dissappeared over night, but I'm concerned that something sinister is brewing. Should I be?? What's the point.... it all comes out in the wash anyway!

Mobyone,
I had (almost) the same combination of warnings. Turned out to be the wiring connector in front of the air compressor. It was loose and had a bit of mud in it - don't know how that happened

Phone Land Rover, who came out, collected the car and have taken it to my local stealer.
Now waiting for a phone call explaining what the problem is, now I use mine everyday (100 miles) and this is the first time this has happened.
Once I know more I'll post it here. Stadt Panzer power

Well the Stadt Panzer is back on the road Spent two days at the stealers, they also carried out it's third service.
Problem was the fuel, tank and lines were flushed, new filter and off she goes. Stealer says I must have put in some contaminated fuel and it had played havoc to the systems. Can not honestly remember filling up at any privately owned petrol stations but there again the wife did have her for 3 days. Stadt Panzer power
