are you talking about those daft clips at the top of the pipes that come up from the EGR valves to the air intake chamber (where the butterfly valve is)?. If one of those clips wasnt fastened, you'd have air being pulled in after the turbo and intercooler, reducing the turbo effect (or would it be pushed out due to the turbo). Either way, I think the air mix/pressure would be all wrong.

A. Yes theres a connection but only if you are like me , a dip & don't put it all back together properly
