Mine's bi-wired and bi-amped. Arcam CD82, Project turntable, Arcam Alpha8R for the high-end and Arcam A65+ for the low range, Yamaha cassette deck for when I feel like reliving the 80s complete with the wow and flutter and an Isotek Cleanline mains unit, all on Atacama Nexus gear.
Speakers are MS906, but are proper since I thumbed the tweeters in . Going, going...... Gone!

ND - are the tweeters cloth-domed or metal? If the former, you should be able to get them back into shape by very gently using a fine needle and pulling the material out
And don't get me started on all that Russ Andrews nonsense...

It may be possible just to re-diaphragm the tweeter. Have you asked MS?

MS won't talk to the public, referring us plebs to their UK agent..... who happens to be owned by Richer Sounds.
Nah, I fancy some new speaker and this is the excuse I need Going, going...... Gone!

That's the spirit - "No dear, I had to buy complete new speakers: due to the phase relationship in the intermodulation coefficient you simply can't just replace tweeters, at least not without a sonic screwdriver. Mmm... these B&Ws look good don't they? No darling, forget the price tag; don't you think the wood finish will go really nicely with our carpet?..."

ND, I have a pair of Monitor Audio Silver S8's and can highly recommend them.
I know that they have been superceded by the RS model but that means that you should be able to pick them up at a reasonable price.
Here is a pair not too far from you either although I have seen them for less.

I can get you some really good deals on loudspeakers. Might be slight overkill for your living room though...

Funnily enough it's the S8 that keeps catching my ear. But Suffolk isn't particularly close to West Dorset......
Going to be a while before I splash the cash, assuming I don't relent and source some suitable tweeters in the meantime. Thinking ahout it, they use the same tweeter as the 902 and 904 and these often go cheap on ebay secondhand so I could source tweeters that way Going, going...... Gone!

As you are all geeks, you might be able to help. We are currently having our lounge revamped and thought we would get a new telly, this will be our first new one! We are going for a 32" Sony Bravia doo dah thing. At the same time we want to buy a new surround sound dvd system. At the mo we have a technics DVD hifi and we want something small and discreet (less wires etc) I had short listed a Sony DAVIS10 as it seems to get good reviews and the only criticism being it is quite quiet which doesn't bother us as we like our neighbours! The room is 24x14 though. I then thought what about a blueray dvd. The Sony system isn't. There is a new version of the Sony system coming out that upscales to 1080p (?) but doesn't seem to have a dvd player combined. What does all this mean and is there a similar priced/quality alternative. Oh and I don't give a toss about seperates etc, I just want as few wires and it to look tidy!! DS3 TDV6 HSE

Why not keep the DAVIS10 and just add a stand-alone BlyRay player? Or a PS3 as that's a good BluRay source (I'm not sure if you are in to gaming - I'm not but I'd still consider a PS3 as a cost-effective BR player). Your Bravia will presumably be 1080p spec, so just use a separate HDMI input on the TV.
Or have I misinterpreted what you are trying to do?

I was trying to keep it as simple as possible! We have a Wii so probably wouldn't get a PS3, I was just looking for an all in one solution. DS3 TDV6 HSE

PS3 is a superb piece of kit ...gaming, blu-ray player and media centre all in one Also have a 360 and a Wii ...all plugged through a Joytech HDMI\component\optical source splitter into the tv and also into the Marantz SR 5200 AV amp pumping out through bi-wired Mission M74's with bi-polar m7ds rears and an M7c2 centre.
A mid range system ...but it sure rocks the world Powered by............................
