Hi all
Just like most others it seems, my D3 has eaten its tyres on the inside edges after 14K miles. Bought it second hand with new tyres at 24K and it has just hit 38K. The dealer is investigating but it's looking like £300 for the alignment check and £700+ for tyres unless they come up with a solution. I spoke to LR customer service and they said they have no record of TSB LA204-008 that has been mentioned elsewhere on the forum and are less than interested until the dealer decides. Does anyone know if it still applies or has been withdrawn? I love the car but £1000 a year for tyres etc is beyond a joke!
The car is on Pirelli Scorpions at the moment (255/60 18 ) - Michelins have been mentioned as much better for wear but I can't find any prices online, even on the michelin website. Are they available in this size?
Cheers

£300 for an alignment check?
One of my tyres had to be replaced at 21,000 as it had over worn on the inside. My local tyre supplier checked and adjusted the alignment using his state of the art computer system, adjusted the alignment (gave me a copy of the alignment printout (before and after). I had the tyre replaced (tyre was £135 inc vat and fitting.) I was not charged for the re-alignment.

My D3 ate the tyre rubber down to canvas on the inner side of the two rear tyres... Problem was caused by worn suspension arm bushes. All rectified under warranty. Disco 3 TDV6 HSE

Thanks for the replies. Four wheel alignment done today, back was way out but 'no fault found' was the mechanics report. Got £100 from caffyns as a goodwill payment but still cost £174 for the alignment. Time to get another dealer's opinion methinks. Land Rover customer service stated they won't pay out unless a fault is found - i find it hard to believe the car can go that far out of alignment without some kind of problem.
