Hi - my D3 must be a yr old soon and has done 12K I guess. When is 1st service due? Do I get a warning on the dash? thanks

At 15k miles, or every year if less. I'm not aware of any servicing due indicator. Always had mine done before I've actually reached the 15k intervals though.

On my XS - 07 model there is a service indicator on the LCD display, what normally shows the Miles/KM travelled or the trip display.
When you first turn the ignition on it briefly displays a little clock symbol and a number next to it, which I assumed to be the days left before the service is due. Mine started to display somewhere around the 20 days left mark and counted down until it was reset yesterday.

Gosh - the three nearest dealers have all quoted £350 ish for the first service (Sheff, Derby and Chesterfield).

You should be able to get under £300 for a first service 
Just tell them you've got a better price & can they price match down to £300? TDV6 HSE Black, Black Wheels /MTR's, Black RRS front/rear LR badge (tbf) Black Leather, Black Glass, Black TowB, Shiny Tasmods, Dull Mantec, White (& Orange) Reflective D3 Sticker, Black steering wheel badge, black air intake. Optima & Traxide dual battery setup.
Need black RRS wheel centre caps.
Now with added Engel.....

Got my first service done last week for £206.
It would be worth your while heading north and spending the day visting some of the North East attractions.
