Not sure how a remap would effect compression , other than if it somehow changes timing settings

Most remaps will only affect the engine when the Terrain Response is set to Normal. When selecting any of the special programs, the TR system applies its own mapping depending on program selection (it varies).
So it should not affect your steep descents.

Remap sure is ok re. compression in TR etc. ... my concern is box approach that would affect all TR stuff What do you mean it won't go there ?

I can honestly confirm that the box will do nothing to the TR settings. If the throttle is closed, then its closed regardless.
Wanna try it? If you don't like it, you give it back and no money changes hands, simple as that. Remap and TTBox available for most vehicles
