When to replace discs and pads please?

Had the following reported on a service a couple of weeks ago:

Front pads 5-6mm
Front discs at 27.3m (New set of discs with next pads)
Rear pads at 7-8mm

(And my rear discs were recently replaced I think).

Are any of these ready to change please? I want to have a go at it myself, but understand that the sensor wire is a pain to change, so I'd like to do it before the warning kicks in.... but not too soon!

Thanks,

John

I think minimum pad thickness is 3mm. Yes the sensor wire is a pain, but possible. I find it helps to remove some clips from the wheel arch liner to improve access.
