Steering

I have had trouble with a steering knock when turning, it's not full lock and I have checked the stops and they are not touching. If I put the key in the ignition to unlock the steering and then move it from side to side without the engine on I get a knocking sound through the bottom of the rack. I got my wife to do it while I felt the track rod arm and you could feel the knock.

Is this normal without the power steering pressurised or is it wear in the rack. The dealer has already replaced the anti roll bar bushes which cured a lot of the knock when going over pot holes etc.

The steering also feels a little loose and the inside of the tyres are also wearing slightly more than the outside.

I had the exact same issue on mine countrywide and they changed the bottom part of the steering column (in the end Rolling Eyes ) I think there is a TSB for it actually for 05/06 vehicles...

Have had the same knock as you refer too on mine....also a dec. 05
Part has been replaced on 79K km and he will go back in next week for the same problem, pushing 85Kkm now.
So I do hope they solve it once and for all this time. Evil or Very Mad
