Right then I went on a 'Gold' factory tour yesterday. So I now have an idea how things work regarding the tours. There are lots of peeps wanting to attend this event, in fact it looks like there will be more than LR can handle in one day.
So having discussed this with LRE in Solihull this is the plan for the Bronze factory tour + an option for food
Disco3.co.uk will have the day to themselves. 25 in the morning and 25 in the afternoon (partners welcome). Can I suggested that the afternoon bunch get to the LRE centre for before 12.30 this will mean that the 2 groups will overlap for an hour for a chat, as the morning tour finishes at 12.30 and the afternoon group starts at 13.30. LRE have agreed to to provided lunch at a cost of £10 above the tour price if you want it. Lunch = potato wedges, selection of nibbles selection of bread rolls with bizarre seeds stuck to the outside and the usual selection of soft drinks.
Yesterday I specifically asked to go on the D3 and RRS tour, this meant that we missed the FFRR and Defender assembly lines. The problem with the D3, RRS assembly line is its in an old building and access to not suited for factory tours so there will be limited numbers available. The group of 25 will be split into 3 or 4 smaller groups. First stop for all groups is the body panel pressing plant then the D3/RRS body shell assembly followed by actual vehicle assembly of Defender FFRR or D3/RRS.
One thing I did note on the body assembly plant is that the RRS's hold up the D3's clearly a trait built in at an early age.
Payment and booking will be direct with LRE. Please make a donation to this site for providing us with a facility to organise this event.
Now the hard bit. I have a date however I don't know how to make the sign-up fair. First come first in I suppose.
How about this for an idea.
This thread will be locked and I will start another thread tonight after LRE have closed. This gives everyone chance to see the post before anyone can sign up. So tomorrow when LRE open you can make your booking, then you can sign up and tick the morning or afternoon tour box. For use of a 4x4 site and driver training pm me

If you want to statt the thread but not the sign-up straight away un-tick the Activate box when you're putting in the options
Not so common...

If you do that Slimer, then it means people could book today..... (as the booking is at LRE) the forum sugn up is (I assume) only an indicator of who's going.
If there's a total of 50 in the day, then do we need to book two of the places if taking someone (I guess we do, how do we show that in the sign up...?)
Will LRE tell callers when the afternoon/morning sessions are fully booked?
Will LRE stop any NON D3 people from booking?
If it's just opened up now you have the info Andrew, some people naturally won't be able to make the date, so would we really go that easily over the 50? TDV6 HSE Black, Black Wheels /MTR's(in the shed!), Black RRS front/rear LR badge (tbf) Black Leather, Black Glass, Black TowB, Shiny Tasmods, Dull Mantec, White (& Orange) Reflective D3 Sticker, Black steering wheel badge, black air intake. Optima & Traxide dual battery setup.
Need black RRS wheel centre caps.
Now with added Engel.....
We D3, therefore we are..........

There will be a D3 password in operation and LRA have given me a guarantee that the day is ours, and yes there will be issues on the sign up if people are taking partners. When its gone its gone no one else will be able to book in and we will state on the sign up that its full For use of a 4x4 site and driver training pm me

That's a limitation of the signup system, you can't add "+1"s or guests to a signup.
The only way to sort it would be to add yourself to the signup, and PM the sign up creator to say that you are taking someone else as well, They can then reduce the number of available places by one (i.e. 25 down to 24, etc)
A muddle, yes, but nothing I can currently do about it I'm afraid. DISCO3 Goodies in the Shop: Stickers, Polo Shirts, Fleeces and More! | D3 Parts For Sale
