Good news : Rear wheel just need to be tracked - done first thing at Advance Pitstop. So no major damage
Bad news : got 1/2 mile down the road from AP when the DSC light came on (orange) and the car seemed to be braking on its own - like HDC only going around a roundabout. Stopped the car and restarted it, all ok! Drove 1/4 mile and then HDC System Failure, SPECIAL PROGRAMS FAILURE, LOWERING SUSPENSION. 3 orange lights on dash - Suspension, DSC and Brakes. rebooted all seemed fine got another 1/4 mile same again. Called the AA, they came and towed it to the dealer.
Spoke to dealer service manager, he said well we will have to add it to the queue we might get a chance to look at it tomorrow. AA are sending me a loaner for 48hours from enterprise!!!
will it never end? The Double D's

That sounds remarkably like what happens when you have a flat tyre. Did they by any chance dislodge the wheel speed sensor wire while they were tracking it? Silver TDV6 HSE

Gareth,
Wheel speed sensor wire - are you serious? The dealer hasn't had a chance to look at it yet. Where is the wire and I'll tell them tomorrow.
thanks

That I don't know mate. It just seems to me that the car thinks that wheel is going at a different speed to the rest of them (like in a puncture situation) and the DSC is having a hissy fit trying to sort it out, then gives up and the computer really throws its toys out of the pram.
Awaiting input from others on this Silver TDV6 HSE

Gareth,
You were spot on apparently. They have have ordered new wheel speed sensors, Steering Angle sensors and updated the Stability Control and the VDC. Should have it back this evening.
