Before fitting my walnut to alpacca I was searching around for pictures of other combinations and never thought that the wood could possibly go with an ebony interior until I saw this shot from Sydney motor show! - I quite like it, has a sort of classy gentlemen's club look about it?
Any combination looks better to my eyes than the acres of battleship grey plastic as fitted originally. I'm pretty sad about design detail, but the fact that the new H piece now has the correct moulding to match the curves on the top of the radio/switch stack finishes it of properly. Paul

The only other I can find is from mrandmrsh....
Looks like their new D3 was delivered incorrectly and they got it changed... but it is on silver... Maybe this combo only works with dark exterior colours?

It does look great, never thought of adding Walnut with the Piano black trim as the obvious way is the latter. Looks great and am wondering why I went for the Piano Black trim... PERMANENTLY IN THE SITE NAUGHTY CORNER

I've just fitted wood (walnut) trim to the D3 (see above or gallery) and I'm very pleased with it. Just got to thinking that with my outside colour the piano black might actually look better with the alpaca. It's not as mad as it sounds, and after looking at the wood ebony combination I'm beginning to think that the colours may be more flexible than I thought?
Anyway, the reason I mention this is because I was thinking that if anyone has fitted the piano black and wishes they now had the walnut wood, then why not consider a straight swap?
I'm up for that if anyone fancies a try - obviously mine is in perfect condition and has only been fitted for one week.

Hey, that's my D3
Dunno if it was 'incorrect' or not but I just preferred the piano black so got the dealer to change it before I picked it up.

Can anyone help me with the correct part number for the upper switch?
I have found:
LYUL500570WUX - Switch assembly (perfect match for Disco 3 HSE)
earlier in this discussion, but my dealer is unable to find that part number in Microcat.
Here is my car spec:
2005 HSE LHD European Spec
PDC front & rear
no tire pressure monitoring
2 buttons left & right of the hazard warning switch
please PM me if you need VIN number
Thank you in advance for your help!

That is the correct part number Nikolaus.
Make sure that your dealer is looking in the RRS section of Microcat and not trying to find it under Discovery 3. This switch panel has never been fitted to a D3 on the production line.
I hope this helps,
