Floating ,wobbling & skewing.

The ride has changed dramatically , cornering on a left hand bend results in the front drifting out or oversteering.I don't have as much confidence cornering as I used to have as it feels as if the car just wants to keep its own straight line.the steering just feels very light
Travelling over any sort of mild bump or surface irregularity results in a major wobble in the steering and the arse end jumping all over the place.
The car is serviced every 15 thousand K's so its looked after pretty well.Ok it's got 140 k klms on the clock and things are bound to be loosening up, wearing etc.It had the steering rack replaced a few weeks after I bought it and on its last service (about 5k ago) had ARB bushings & steering rack ends replaced.Alignment was carried out also.

I've tried it with 19's , 17's & 20's ( 275's & 295's) and the only difference I found was with the 295's cornering/steering/grip had improved.

Any ideas ?

if you have GPS fitted then it sends out a signal which the website detects and it changes the flag appropriately

Our Discovery does it too.

It's an 05 S model with 80k miles on it. We noticed it when the weather was cold, thought it was the icey roads but it still does it now.

Not sure what it is but it has good tyres on it and it drives well except for the light steering. Sometimes it feels like it is going to slide off the road. Mostly happens when you go right to left on country roads. Feels like you have hit black ice. Not sure if the car is sliding but the steering goes incredibly light and you begin to clench your bum cheeks. Very Happy

Check balls joints and have the steering rack rechecked to make sure all is tight and adjusted correctly.

Also tyre pressures... makes a big difference. As does tyre tread depth to the 'weight' of the steering.

Had this on my last D3 and after both front balls joints changed... went away.

All above are just thoughts...
