Radio Station 2WS - Weak Transmission
Whenever, 2WS is the radio station when I start-up, the radio remains silent, the other radio stations are okay. It has only started happening the last few weeks. 2WS only comes on song if I flick to another radio station then back to it. Anybody come across this? I wonder if 2WS is transmitting very weak signals.'06 Disco 3 TDV6 SE Buckingham Blue

Mine goes to search when I flick to 2WS Must be the signal. But overall the radio reception is poor. But better than my daughters Getz, since some bright spark ripped off the antennaTake the road less traveled. I haven't ever tried the AM band.
I'd take it back to the dealer if anything did come through on mine!

If you have the base head unit it is a load of sh t. 2westie would drop out easily here on the N. beaches. Tuner is poor quality. Was on my third repalcement which was much better ow gone aftermarket much better but reduced volume in some of the didgy areas. Only solvable completely with a diversity antenna which the Hi-line has.“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

the FM tuner must work OK.
Over on Moreton (on the Eastern side) not many cars can still pick up FM stations. The Disco was still clear as day.2012 MY13 SDV6 SE D4 Ipanema Sand with Almond leather

If the antenna is in the right direction it will still pickup really well.
My experience with the tuner has been electronic glitches. Complete silence when signal drops, not keeping set stations and silence on restart.
Last w/e out at Catai too westie did seam weak to me, maybe running on low power or just my imagination. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Radio Reception
Yup, mine is poor on AM only, even just 20 k out from Sydney CBD. Dealer service centre said seems pretty normal. Neverthless, they did check aerial connections but to no avail.MY07 D3, TDV6S; Bull Bar, Cooper S/T's, Dual Battery, UHF, GPS; 03 D2, 94 D1, both departed & 1950 S1 80" going strong. 06 Astra CDX Coupe.

Just changed the head unit. The tuner is more reliable but the signal is not much better. Needa diversity antenna or an external one to get much better especially the AM signal.
Not too concerned as I can play a USB stick directly with the head unit now.................or an i-pod............or an MP3 player via blueteeth...........or a computer via aux in or blue teeth...................or...................so don't listen to radio as much anymore. I have over 10 gigs of music to choose from.

DiscoAtom - I have a similar problem; if I leave the radio on channel 6 in FM, whenever I start the car the radio remains silent until I change to one of the other channels. If I change back to Channel 6 (which in my case is tuned in to VEGA), the signal is there good and strong. It only happens when I turn the car off on VEGA.
Perhaps the Disco has more discerning taste in music then I do??? Or maybe Caver's right, the radio is s load of ^%$^%!!!'11 TDV6 - Stornoway Grey.... still lovin' it!!

Baggy - I noticed this problem after I my car was returned from a scheduled service and after I had used the CD player, prior to that it was fine. Did the stealer do something detrimental to my unit during the service or does using the CD player screw up the FM tuner? I will look into this problem later but in the meantime, I have been turning the radio off and listening to the sound of the engine instead!! Lately, I have not been enjoying the selection of music played over FM.'06 Disco 3 TDV6 SE Buckingham Blue
