The sound of that V8, and the feeling as you put foot are worth the cash outlay. I don't do high mileage and don't tow anything, so when that torque peak kicks in, for me it is at an aural orgasm at 4000rpm. I love the V8. Thumbs Up

Aaah but my rangie has a chevy 350 (5.7 l) with free flow pipes. That's how I get my aural rocks off Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

But I also avg 3.5 km/l Shocked

Heine,

Googled this http://www.warrantysolutions.co.za/ , but would also like to hear from randlover about this product.

Had a quick read through and it doesn't seem to cover servicing costs, which the Motorite one does. That may, in part, explain the price difference. As usual though I stand open to correction.

Shocked thats almost 4 times as much fuel as I use
I'll just stick a recording of a V8 into the cd player thanks and welcome

You won't use 4 times less pulling a 3,5 ton rig. I have driven the diesel as a loan vehicle at JHB altitude, and the turbo lag is a pain in the butt Yawn (and quite frankly dangerous) but everyone to his own. I use about 17l/100km in town and about 13l/100km on the open road without towing. It would be interesting to see the real cost taking the extra cost of diesel fuel in to account.

Full maintenance is not on the website. I got a quote direct and was advised to do so by Dean in service at Waterford.

Agreed Randlover. Just look at recent posts about turbos blowing, egr blanking, fuel problems etc. If you are out of warranty you are better off in a petrol.

didn't say you would Thud is there not a translation for almost in seth efriken Rolling Eyes . I have towd 2ton at highway speed using 8.9l/100km and Im sure it wouldnt rise much with the weight you are talking about seeing as the deisel is a better towing engine.
with regards to the lag I know its there but I also know how to drive so dont find it as an issue, you might.

Geez kittylitter you are really putting some large chunks of bait on now Laughing This IS the Seth Effriken forum so yes we do have a skeef view on things.

Maybe Randlover was towing offroad??? Mr. Green Nanny state motorways at 70Mph are pretty good for your fuel economy, granted. Maybe he was towing at Seth Effriken speeds. Our speed limit is a rough guide to the likelihood of being fined, so he was probably going at 140Kph!! Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

Just registered here after owning my V8 HSE for 3 years. I pull a 3400 kg rig (see my gallery) and it never fails to amaze me how well this car pulls my boat. I have done 94600 kilos without any mechanical problems, a lot of the time towing. When a gearbox is this good, the power/torque curve of the V8 comes in to it's own. But of course, at 100-110 km/h I average 35-38 l/100km. (Now registering a second bond with Engen!!) This is without doubt, the most reliable car I have owned. For those interested, I just extended my maintenance plan with Warranty Solutions for another 2 years. Much cheaper than Motorite (Land Rover) and the service is great. Happy Land Roving! Oooooops. just looked at his average speed Embarassed
