Deon have you been to 'Die Hel'? It is a fantastic drive down the mountain. Access is just after the top of the Swartberg Pass coming from Oudtshoorn side en route to Prince Albert at GPS position S33 20 22.1 E22 02 18.2

It is about a 45km drive on top of the mountain before reaching the 400m drop into the valley below. Camping & Chalets are available at the bottom. Usually a few river / stream crossings in the valley but this year we have not had much rain so they may be dry.

We did it with a trailer in tow and the hairpin bends were quite tight but manageable.

Perhaps on your return trip go via the Baviaan's Kloof which is also a fantastic route. Enter just south of Willomore.

Have fun....
