Told them I have been quoted £340 inc from J V Likes and they price matched it! Had a phone call 30 mins later saying that they could not match the price and they could do it for £375 inc.
I have emailed Yeovil Landrover for a quote and will ring J V Likes again tomorrow to see what they come up with. Anyone have a price/quote for the second service?
I have mine booked in next month at Lakeland for £390 inc VAT.

Not really pertinent in the current economic climate but got my 30K service done at a fantastic dealership in Amiens (that's in France for the geographically challenged ) last Septmeber after getting quoted £420 locally
408 euros @ 1.4 euro - £1 made it £276, but now it is around £320
the train was £50 return, and the fuel was £30 roughly (on the cheaper French diesel)
Got there first thing, wandered around the shopping centre, went into Amiens for lunch then went back to pickup the car.
We were quoted 320 euros upwards, but these guys spoke passable English to match my passable French, and the owner's father was the service manager who looked after us very well, they even got us a taxi to Amiens centre
just an option for those who fancy a day out getting whilst their service is done? but it's questionable at 1.25 euro - £
got the details if anyone wants 2006 D3 HSE

Spoke to Yeovil Landrover yesterday and was quoted £440! J V Like Brecon £375, so I'm sticking with Stradstone Cardiff £375 inc with courtesy car. Discovery TDV6 SE (06)

Had the car serviced in JV Like today.Paid slightly less than quoted , but not much.Did the service, the re-callls, a few issues i`ve had for a while which Stratstones Swansea could not resolve especially the electronic park brake which was sticking on and seriously affecting my gold dust consumption at 21 nuggets per mile. Tripped the clock on the way out 52 miles at 21.9mpg. Tripped it on the way back and got a reading of 34.6mpg! I will keep an eye on the consumption just in case there is a glitch in the system. A long day out hanging around though.Car went in at 10.am and I got it back at 3pm! Sat drinking lots of coffee and home made chocolate cake.I dont know if I will go again due to the wait, but the saving of well over a hundred squid has to be considered.I cant help but think that a "price promise" service means a "cut the corners job" ,perhaps i`m a sinical old sod who hates parting with hard earned cash and getting second class service.Speak as you find

Silly question, but how do you know if the electronic park brake is sticking? I drove to Cardiff yesterday and averaged 28.9 mpg, driving carefully and on cruise. I have noticed a squeaking noise from the brakes on times! Discovery TDV6 SE (06)

Welsh Disco. All I can tell you is this has been going on for months.Get a lot of squeeling from the back of the car.Assume its the brakes.Been to stratstones, they say there is nothing wrong and cant find a fault.I dont think they looked at the car as they were having staff issues at the time and had lost a few grease monkeys oops sorry computer assisted automotive technicians.J V Like advised me that the brake shoes were stripped down ,everything cleaned out .reasembled and re-fitted. The brakes were not changed.Mind you they could have been telling me anything. All I know is that the car does`nt make the noise anymore, at the moment anyway and the mpg improved straight away.I am keeping an eye on it though
