Like most people in the UK at the moment ...I dream of moving to a far off land away from all the bullshit. I really fancy Aus , NZ or Canada ...but when reality sinks in ...would I really do it ........maybe one day
So where would you go and why ?..... and are there any of our friends out there that actually want to come to the UK ?? Powered by............................

Canada or Oz, France also.
Canada, fantastic outdoors spaces, all the goodies the US gets for cheap but without the American's Been twice and Nova Scotia or Vancouver would be my choice.
Oz, never been but fancy the sun and Oz attitude to life
France, anywhere outside of a big city is idilic. Food, wine, weather and friendly people (countryside not city). Problem is language - so would need to go back to school.

I suppose the thing about anywhere in the Euro zone is that you can move there without any constrictions aside from language.... The French will not speak English out of principle whereas many other euro countries will make an effort IMHO Powered by............................

Why the hell should they?
THEY ARE FRENCH
If you expect to take-up residence in a foreign country and have the indigenous people speak your native language for your own convenience then you have spent too much time with colonialist bed-fellows.
I'd be off to the south of France as soon as possible and my first priority would be to (re)learn the language. The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

......... it certainly is .........
As always, it's not what it costs ,but what you earn.
We know several Canadians( with Aussie Spouse ) who all think the salaries here are rubbish ....and they're quite right. Compare salary with living costs ,and Canada is a good living...... NewZealand isn't...they earn peanuts over there.
In SO many jobs, it's too hard to start all over again somewhere else. Disco3.co.uk ; We all know nothing about something
Who's lookin'

Yes, that's the thing. When we applied for our Visas three years ago, house prices were easily 40-50% less here in Perth, whereas salaries (Outside the mining boom) haven't gone up by anywhere near the same amount, so housing is far less affordable. Now, I know the Eastern States guys will say we're now comparable, but the Eastern States have always had higher salaries compared to the West.
Add in what the fuel costs are doing to even food prices, plus the droughts over East making it worse, and the mortgage rate rises, and the picture isn't as good as it once was. I know several people now who are having to cut out what I wouldn't even regard as luxuries just to make ends meet.
That said, it's still a fantastic place to live, and I think everywhere globally has most of the same issues right now (Except house prices!). - Jeff K -

A few years ago I seriously thought about moving to Dallas, Texas. I set up a distribution company there and was going to stay there and run it.
Could have had a huge house and good standard of living but SWMBO didn't fancy the idea of moving there with the kids.
Some great titty bars in Dallas though Global Warming.... I'm luvvin it.
