I think we are missing one important point here...... (Except JMC)
296 Bhp
mini only deliver a mere 211
Yes, the colour is a bit dubius, may be they will make it in Bright Orange. Definatly not a chav mobile
At 25K I may just consider it Duncan

Yes yes but that only translates to half a second (and these are "quoted" times for the RS vs. real times for the JCW), so who cares how many HP? Would love to see them go 'round a track, I would be astonished if the JCW didn't thoroughly destroy the RS.

I know it was addressed to Si, but I can't help posting the 'car down the road' here:
(poor picture, but the official website is constructed from Flash)
However, I suspect you meant a car that you could sit four in with a bit of luggage/room for a dog or two, rather than one where rubber trousers and a full-face helmet are recommended. Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana

Easily kept up with a Cooper S in my old V6 golf last week at a Goodwood track day last week. Assume it should have been far quicker than me.. My chum also sat up the ar$e of a 911 for 5 laps in his prepared VW Polo which sure ed the 911 owner off! (That's always more fun..)
Not sure how much HP etc affects it all when you get to 200HP plus and <7 secs 0-60. Is it worth the extra dosh for 0.1 secs improvements? I'm sure you have the same fun driving any machine at it's own limits, I do! Nothing to prove to anyone, just having fun. Difference is when I loose mine in the tyre wall it's £6K written off, when the GT3 does it it's £150k. Would rather have a R32 than the RS, yes slower but at least has a modicum of class..... A Silver G4... Best of both worlds!

Have to agree there, awesome cars! Not bad MPG too, the most economic car we own! Happiness is a vectored thrust! (As seen on a Harrier GR3)
1980 Series 3 restoration - Mine
Very dirty 1996 Defender 90 - Soon to be mine!
Stornaway Grey D3 HSE - Dads!
Asure Blue S1 Lotus Elise - Also dads!
It's a long way to the top!

James Hunt used to drive an A35 van for that very reason - he could drive right on the limits anywhere without breaking the speed limit! Sharks: Natures way of telling surfers to get a job
