Did anyone go to Waddy today? Did the Vulcan fly in the display? I decided not to go as I thought it would not get clearance, but looks I was wrong

Saw one of these on it's final flight as it cruised along low level parallel to the M4 some years ago. When i was a kid I was at school near Avro's/Handley Page's test airfield and made a model of the Vulcan. (that was 1954 - wish that I'd kept it.) Brings tears to the eyes.

I recently read a book called Vulcan 607 by Roland White. It is an account of the planning and execution of the bombing raid on the airport at Port Stanley. It is an incredible story.
I thought the gist of it would be "Took off from Ascension, flew to the Falklands, dropped ordnance, flew back"but I was wrong, It is a real eye-opener. 07 Silver TDV6 XS Manual + Tubes, Tints, White indicator repaeters, Xtreme H7s, LR dog Guard and Valeao Windy-Wipers

Glad to see it back in the air. Spent 6 years on them back in the 70's at Waddington on 101 Sqn. A fantastic aircraft to fly. Many happy memories. 101 For Fun

Try "Sea Harrier Over the Falklands" by Sharkey Ward. Equally incredible from the Fleet Air Arm perspective.... Cheers
