I would think the legislation against a 13 year old driving an unregistered quad on public roads is already in place...?

Now this brings up a serious question - What about those invalid carts we seeing wizzing around most shopping centres, how do they get away with it????

And having had to jump out of the way of a few of them today some 80year olds on them are just as bad/mad as the 13 year olds on micro bikes...

Not sure, there are guidelines for mobility scooters. There are 2 kinds I believe and only the ones that have a maximum speed of 8 mph are allowed on the road and even then they should still be taxed (free) and registered with the DVLA. They should also have insurance but I do not believe that this is checked. The ones with a maximum speed of 4 mph are only allowed on the pavements.

I think most of them in Chesterfield zoom around on and off the pavement at their maximum speed regardless of whether a pedestrian or car is in the way. I was nearly knocked over in smiths last week by an old lady on one of these things Evil or Very Mad

Those mobility scooters are menace to both the drivers and the general public. Time and time again I have seen little old ladies driving the things along busy streets at rush hour seemingly oblivious to the angry commutors racing past them.

The ones in the pedestrianised areas all seem to think they have right of way because they're old.

Limit the top speed to 2mph in pedestrian areas and then we'll how needed they really are.

Rant finished.
