That's a shocker, lucky you knew what it was and got treated quickly. Hopefully no lasting damage done, you would have thought that after 38 years you would have eaten most things, but apparently these allergies can develop at any time.
I am allergic to shell fish, but only get a mild reaction and am just sick everywhere. Quite good for getting a discount on the bill if your in a restaurant though . Didn't find out until I was in my twenties.
As said by others, only 60 minutes away if you need anything. I guess the shock will be setting in a bit now as well.

Jaysus ND - just logged on and read this - nothing like going for broke is there?
Seriously - you were among the first (if not the first ) to welcome me when I joined this forum - all along I've enjoyed reading your rants ( ).
Take care
PS - if it's the gargle you're allergic to, I'll help you out..... I drink, therefore I am.
I'm pink, therefore I'm spam.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery and diagnosis ND and glad you pulled through.
Know what it's like waiting for tests, I collapsed 4 years ago and was unfortunately misdiagnosed for 2.5 years. New diagnosis came about because I collapsed again just before Christmas 2006 and a few months ago it was found that I have a scar on the cerebrum (sp?) part of my brain . I'm still having tests as they are hoping to make it easier for me to manage my illness but have been told that they will never sign me fit for work again as going back to work could make the symptons worse. I'm still hoping that they are wrong about the work bit as I enjoyed working in IT - I know that there are a lot of people out there who just can not be bothered to work but I'm not one of them and really miss it. One of the things I really miss is horse riding but at the moment I am not allowed to do that either. Zambezi Silver TDV6 HSE, Privacy glass, Side steps and Maxxraxx 5 Bike carrier.

Very sorry to hear that Woody and hope you can prove them wrong
I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who has posted here, rung, PM'd or sent an email. I've had a few moments today when it's really struck home how close I came to the big one and I know Stel has had similar moments.
Just had a rummage through the kitchen cupboards. We don't do processed food in this house, but do have a healthy selection of herbs, spices etc. Well, we did. Most of them are now in a box pending the test results in a few weeks time. One interesting thing; all the products in the box are Tesco own brand. All the stuff we've bought in Waitrose is in the clear. The labelling on the Tesco product is the usual mealy-mouthed lawyer speak of "this product may contain traces blah blah blah", which speaks volumes about Tesco being effing lazy and opting to put their products off limits and cover their backsides against a court case rather than do what the other manufacturers/suppliers/retailers do and actually have some confidence in their product separation processes.
calm. must be calm....... Carbon footprint? I neither know nor give a damn
