Took car in for 1st service yesterday, on the whole pretty impressed with service, took it in about 10am picked it up about 4pm. Service valet FOC, courtesy car FOC, brand new D3 but couldn't get the damn thing in gear until I realised it had a 3rd pedal that had to be depressed to engage gears
On the invoice it states that they used engine flush and rail cleanse, didn't realise they had to flush the engine at 1st service But as well as oil filter element there is an item FILTER ASSY @ £28.00, do they change the entire filter housing I left them with a fuel filter on the passenger seat and asked them would they fit this for me although it isn't due at this service, but after spending a week on Tunisian fuel I thought it a good idea, they service guy agreed and changed this for me FOC Total cost for service £351.63
Back to the thread title, I noticed that all the trip and MPG readouts had been reset, this morning I noticed that the umph had gone so I'm assuming they have overwritten the TC, it doesn't state anywhere on the invoice that they have uploaded or overwritten anything, would this be a standard procedure on a first service I'm not as good as I once was........but I'm as good once as I ever was.

Just had my first service and they reset all the computer readouts.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to afford remapping yet, so I can't comment. Sharks: Natures way of telling surfers to get a job

If there is an applicable software update then they would have applied it and not said anything. Only way to know is to ask.

Paul,
I would go along with the learn again bit. After my encounter with crap fuel from Tesco and the complete replacement of the fuel system, the car seemed sluggish.
TFC confirmed that the software had not been overwritten and in any case he would re-install it FOC as part of the deal. Aftre a few days she was back on song again.
BTW how do you find the Torque Tune Paul?
Still makes me smile from time to time, especailly with the caravan on the back! Don't worry till there is some thing to worry about..

Hi Steve,
That's just it, mine was fine until it went in for service. I changed the air filter before it went in to the dealer as this isn't due for changing at 1st service, I would say have the hoover ready, when I removed the filter the air box was full of sand, well maybe not full but there was quite a bit in there I'm not as good as I once was........but I'm as good once as I ever was.

Interesting to read about your issues with sand.. I haven't noticed that happening to mine after offroading in the desert yet. Then again, mine is "Gulf Spec" - I wonder if they fit a different air filter here?

I would go with the gearbox re-learning.
Try swapping from TR-Off to one of the settings under acceleration. If there's an obvious drop in the acceleration, I understand that's how to spot that the re-map is still there. TDV6 SE Auto, Cairns Blue
