TG - Bentley Tyre Blowout

Anyone know if the Brooklands has special or run-flat tyres fitted? After JC blew the LH Rear it looked like there was an inner tyre still intact....or was it a special stunt tyre??? Just curious....
 Cheers

Simon

I will check with the lad, but when we where watching it on Sunday he did say he had heard in the factory, Bentley where not happy that TG where doing the test, possibly that may be why the Stig didn't run it round the track.

Hi Shiny, I´ve looked at the vid from iplayer and the car immediately after the blowout definitely looks to have something slightly smaller than the tyre fitted to the other wheels still in place, definitely no rim on the ground.

As it also seemed to have something interfering with the two-way-radio comms I wonder if it had a jammer as part of a security package. Runflat/bullet resistant tyres might be part of that package. Whether a special PZero or an even more special tyre I bet it cost a pretty buck or two..... Shocked

I can completely understand VW not being happy with the way it was hammered though.... Shocked If ever anything desperately needed 4wd.....
 Cheers

Simon

I would not be surprised, apparently you can choose the armour glass thickness depending upon what gun or calibre of gun you what to keep out, they even have a piece of glass with examples of different bullets in it.

I've mailed him - I'll let you know
