When it came down to 6-pots, I did like the smoother lines of the Honda CBX.
By a long way the worst bike of the era must be the Honda CX500, for some reason I just did not like them. Maybe because it was a favourite bike used by the Police. Silver TDV6 HSE

Used to live in the Lake District and spent every weekend somewhere out on bikes.
Loved the CX500 (soupdragon) but they didnt have the thrill of a Z1R or early GSXR Suzuki
Its sad when you take time out to remember the people you "lost" due to bikes over the years - I have several mates no longer with us - and largely due to car drivers, poor roads and dropped diesel on bad bends......
Thanks for the thread - A little reflection is always good. D3 05 SE (old one)

We currently have a kawasaki ZL1000 Eliminator, previously had Z1300. a GPZ1100 and a CX500 custom. Sadly have also lost a good friend. He survived the tumble (which they think was caused by diesel on the road) but was killed by a car coming in the other direction. Disco 3 TDV6 HSE

Those things were waaay too easy to flip!
A quick look along the bikes parked outside tech college would show smashed clocks & other tell-tale signs of flippage!
Was the front wheel supposed to be on the ground ?

This bike was the Mutt's Nuts if you were 18 in 1981!
I was 18 in 1982 & bought a used 250cc with red striping, slightly sweeter (imo) than the 350 if not quite as rapid. It was still legal to ride one on L plates then.
When the new motorcyle laws came in, I used to turn up (illegally I guess!) for the compulsory training to pass my bike test on it, get on a 125cc weave around some cones etc. & then burn off home in a cloud of two-stroke smoke .
Iirc, all I did to it was fit a steering damper, really didn't need much else.
I still miss it.
