Spotted an Elsie in 999MJR's gallery!
This bike was the Mutt's Nuts if you were 18 in 1981!
BTW 999, you don't post often enough!
You only live a few miles from me.

Wow! I had one of them, a true nutter bad bastard machine.
I got mine new in April 1983, RD350 LC in Black, I sprayed the wheels and radiator cover red. It was stupidly quick from the traffic lights, and handled like it was on rails. The only problem was it was too light on the front, and was oh so easy to flip if you got it wrong.
I was made to sell it before I had an accident I'd have another one though. Silver TDV6 HSE

I had a bit of an 80's bike nostalgia thing a few months ago and decided to look for some on autotrader. Have you seen how much these go for nowadays?

Not been looking, but I would pay very good money for an original un-crashed example with standard spec.
I also had a Kawasaki KH250 triple, Yamaha RD200, and a Suzuki GT250, also had a Honda 250N Super Dream (best forget that one! Silver TDV6 HSE

Oooh that S1 is tempting, but waaaaay too expensive. The 350LC sounds nice, but also a bit pricey I think. Silver TDV6 HSE

Gareth. Told you!
Prices high due to 40-somethings looking to re-kindle their teenage years!
Dave T. An X7 eh?
Those things were waaay too easy to flip!
A quick look along the bikes parked outside tech college would show smashed clocks & other tell-tale signs of flippage!
Great times!
Wouldn't let my 16 year old get a bike though! Were roads safer 25 years ago?

I had an RD200 too, then a Z250, a GS550 and finished with a GPXR 750R....seems like a lifetime ago now though. I spent £4250 on the GPX and sold it 18 months later for only £2800 .........my first encounter with depreciation
Way too much traffic around for me to ride a bike for fun nowadays though. However, I would consider one again if ever I had to commute.
I live in dread of my daughters coming home with a boyfriend who has a bike...long time to wait for that though, my eldest is only 6 Sharks: Natures way of telling surfers to get a job

I would not be happy if my sons said they wanted bikes, but if I remember back to the things I used to get up to when I was in my late teens, I know know why my mother was a bag of nerves!
On the other hand, I would consider getting another motorbike, although the early-onset of may mean it would actually be an anti-climax.
On a more serious note, I lost some good friends because of mostorbikes, and saw what it did to their families. It was this that made me turn to 4 wheels in the end. Nowadays however, it seems that there is as much carnage on 4 wheels involving young drivers. Silver TDV6 HSE

Hiring an RV plus 2 Harleys!
Plenty of open spaces over there!

All good bikes Ken If you want to go really mental, then how about an old Kwacker Z1 900
The problem with the old air-cooled RD's was the handling. The LC was much steadier. There seems to be more older RD's available than LC's. Silver TDV6 HSE
