We were in France a couple of weeks ago and it was 28-30 degree's and for the whole holiday the CD player wouldn't work properly. Most of the time it wouldn't recognise CD's or it would play one or two tracks and then stop working. You would then need to eject the CD and then it might work again for another couple of tracks. You also couldn't use the skip track funtion as it would confuse it.
When I got back to the UK it started to work again with only the odd locking up. Booked into the dealer and they had it for 2 days and couldn't get it to fail. I suspect the dealers thinks I am mad or an idiot, but could it be related to heat as it is obviously a lot cooler in the UK.
So far the last week it has been faultess

if we swap cars for a week, maybe they will each misbehave for the dealer as it isn't their owner driving really ought to change this.........

I blame my wife's choice of music, maybe it has a taste filter in it. So maybe it failing on holiday wasn't such a bad thing after all.
Did you have a good holiday in France.
