cd player issues

Just bought the disco3 ...Can someone please tell me IF the CD player should keep on playing when it;s turned off??....Although you cannot of course hear it...You can occasionally here the CD's changing to the next one...and when you turn it back on from the last point it was turned off..it's on a completely different track or CD?

Do thye all do this??

Thanks for any help.

.......Sorry to be the bearer of bad news ....... this and other ICE problems are long standing faults.

There are no remedies other than to switch off and then on again ( or disconnect the battery)....... sorry old chap

Search the site on Nav section for history of this problem.

PS changing the unit or software alterations don't work either !!!

Welcome zamo Thumbs Up may not be as bad as Neil is suggesting, plug a set of head phones into each of the rear stereo controls and make sure none of them are set on CD before resorting to anything more drastic

Simon, does the on/off on the unit not overide the playing of the ICE system by passengers ? Confused

Cheers, Neil.

ISTR it didn't on earlier vehicles but it was changed so off really meant off later on. Probably a TSB to update the earlier ones, I'll take a look

TSB LA415-003 - Infotainment System Fault Diagnosis Information

Covers a whole bunch of issues and fixes, including this one....

Symptom: CD continues to run/change disc even though cabin audio is listening to another audio source.
Cause: Same source lockout issue where one or more of the headphone sockets are still set to CD even though there are no headphones attached.
Action:Complete a battery disconnect/hard reset then upload latest software to IHU/HLDF/Amp. (This will introduce a fix which sets the headphone sockets inputs to Aux on each ignition cycle and stops the CD running in the back ground. However, if CD is selected by any one or more of the headphone sockets and not selected back during that ignition on period the CD will continue until ignition is cycled again.)
