Has any forum member had any experience with importing an LR3 into the UK from the USA? I wonder how many modifications I'd have to make to pass the individual vehicle inspection with the department of transport? Or, for that matter, whether the light fittings and glass available in the UK would even fit a US bought LR3. Grateful for any advice.

Apart from the steering wheel being on the wrong side, headlamps pointing the wrong way, no locking fuel cap and the mpg display being in the wrong gallons there's probably no difference. Can't think of any reason why the correct UK spec its wouldn't fit, they might say LR3 on the back but they're made in the same Solihull factory
Though why would you want to import one? Exchange rate may be in our favour but after shipping, customs and all the other associated costs I can't imagine it'd be cheaper than buying one over here that already has all the right bits
Not so common...

Thanks for the reply. I live in the USA at the moment and can get a Disco back tax-free. They've got some great prices over here, given the weak dollar, but they are all petrol engined and I can just see the initial savings getting frittered away over time in additional fuel costs.....
