It only works over Wi-Fi; EDGE is too slow.
www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer works fine for me

Cheers, that works great. What I'm trying to play is news items and they are looking for a different version of Adobe Flash. None of the ones that the then offered link point to will down load, now waaaaaay past my techie knowledge.

AFAIK, Apple have no plans to support Flash on the iPhone/iPod Touch.
iPlayer only works as Auntie offers a H.264 stream rather than Flash, wmv, real player et al.
YouTube has a similar trick H264 in place of the normal Flash.
