Reply was no it cannot be done I explained it could, the main technician came to talk to me and NO it cannot be done!! I expalined that it could, well just had a phone call from them and they found out that it can be done (well never)! and they wanted £275 to do it! robbing bast***s so I declined.
What I find amazing is the knowledge of information on this site and where the hell do the strealers get there information from. Discovery TDV6 SE (06)

It should take about 40 mins to load in the software ...so you should only be charged 1 hr at the very most.
I had my done for free ... as i argued when i purchased the car i was told the sat nav would work when on the move ...also if you have TMC then it should work ..otherwise how can you re-route ? Hi,
Sat Nav on the move software upgrade is notoriously difficult. What works with some, easily, is not so easy on others.
You have to reconfigure a multitude of modules, before it will work.
On the last one I did you had to upgrade I think 5 modules, including the telephone upgrade (which takes 45 mins on it's own!!). I also had to upgrade the front entertainment module software, which takes about 20-25 mins, then when you go into destination on the move menu, it downgrades it (another 20 mins) then applies destination on the move, then re-applies the front entertainment module upgrade, (yet another 20 mins). If you do not upgrade the module first, it fails, saying hardware not found.
Had I not been so stubburn to want to get it working I may have given up (like I think many techs do when trying to justify their labour hours.)
When I spoke to Landrover dealer technical about ths, they said they knew they had problems, & were trying to resolve the issue.
Regards
Steve

It's obviously not as easy as it appears. Beadles were going to do mine when it was last serviced but 'had problems with the computer'. The car went back again last Monday and the latest I heard was that they had to order a replacment radio module because the computer had wiped the existing software.
On the plus side, they've only quoted about £40 to do the job & I have had a nearly new Freelander courtesy car to run round with so can't complain too much....

I had mine done two weeks ago at my local dealer(Sandton SA). Time allocated is 4.3 units( they said that this is 4 and half hours). It took them almost three hours due to various module upgrades mentioned by Steve.
They charged me £70- an internal rate to cover the technicians time. This was the first they have done- and it works.

Can someone clarify what this gives? I assume its the ability to enter the destination while driving?
I seem to already be able to do this on our MY07, however, the previous owner was one Land Rover (staff car we think from kiddie seat mark on leather in back) so perhaps the previous driver already had this done?!
