LROi couple of months ago did some lanes in that area, including a tidal road and isolated beaches. Waiting for when I go and see my folks next who are in Brixham to try them out. Craig

Jolly good idea... just need to persuade SWMBO that meeting up for LR geek talk with be just what she wants to do
We will be geocaching around the place so no doubt will end up face to face in the lanes around Start Point at some stage

My friends are in the local Coastguard down there and we usually end up doing some reccies at some point Great for secluded and quiet picnics on top of the cliffs were no one is allowed to go

sorry... you'll need to keep up though as the local roads around there are quite familiar after many years in the area... some great cut throughs across the odd farmers track you can take to avoid the tourists

Park at the Start Point Lighthouse carpark, walk down the road to lighthouse (lovely views back East, Torcross, Slapton) and then take to the Cliff path west. You can usually see seals along this stretch. Gorgeous beach, Mattiscombe, hardly anyone will be there before midday as its a bit of a hike to get down to it with the BBQ, Kids and all that stuff. Lovely to swim off there too. Dog friendly, fresh stream water and plenty of shade. You can then walk straight up thro the fields back to the carpark at the top.
Bolberry Downs, between Salcombe and Hope Cove are spectacular, walk either way, the views are beautiful. If you fancy a long walk, park up on Bolberry Down and head west down to Hope Cove (Old fishing Villages), Hope and Anchor pub does a good lunch, then you wander back up the lanes to Bolberry.
Have a lovely holiday. Hope this helps.

You should be ok at Stokenham, just be wary of Blackawton!! If at first you don't succeed.... destroy all evidence that you tried in the first place!!

4 years ahead of me then - I thought it was great there, all that time spent in Whalers and PBs!

I've driven a few of those LRO lanes in the last few weeks and they are very narrow and overgrown - the track down to Mansands near Brixham was where I gained a load more bramble scratches on Saturday from all the bracken and hawthorn down there! Very narrow for a D3 It's worth walking down though! D3 TDV6 S 2005 - TorqTune, Privacy Glass, Remote FBH, 19" HSE Alloys, Boot liner, retrofit F&R PDC

I only remember learning the 'twin screw' technique with a WREN........
Diving into the Dart in Novemeber to save someone was another story.....
EMA's at 5am in December in an unheated pool was a similar thrill........ The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

Yes, that was still part of the curriculum in 91! Or was it 'screw twin' by then, not sure
