| Reversing Sensor - any aftermarket parts ? |
|
Hi, just wondering if anyone has had to replace a reversing sensor and if so has anyone found if you can get an aftermarket part that fits , ie non Landrover. I was in the process of rotating my sensors prior to fitting my new Mitchell Bros tow hitch and one of them has come apart top section from the bottom & one of the wires has snapped off - too minute to reattach. Checked with my local L/R dealer & a replacement was $153.00 !!!!! Their only excuse was that its Landrover !!
If I can't find an aftermarket one to fit I will try just disconnecting that sensor - hope this does not stop the others from working.
Any one got any other suggestions ?

You could try asking Nick at Yeovil (aka The Large One). I suspect that they are a lot cheaper in the UK - even with P&P to the southern hemisphere Sharks: Natures way of telling surfers to get a job

Thanks James R , have been in touch with Nick and yes prices are way cheaper even with postage. less than half the cost on the part in OZ , so have placed my order. These forums are great in situations like this. Maybe a lesson for others regarding spare part prices . Visit yor local TV/electronics repair shop(anyone with a regulated temperature soldering iron). i am sure they will be able to reattach it for you. Shouldn't cost much at all (couple of minute job).
