Looking at faults posted I cant help but get the impression that most problems are in D3s that do a fair bit of off road work and that the car may not be built with too much off road work in mind. It certionally performs well but with all the suspension, steering, computor, water ingress to vitals etc etc etc I am begining to wonder if it is rugerd enough for the job.
So a poll may be in order to see if faults are accross the board of more on off roaders. MY05 TDV6 SE, dirt colour, AT2s road, STTs fun, snorkle, roof rack, engle fridge, uhf, magellan sat, dual batt, arb bull bar, winch, & other stuff.....

Fair amount of off roading and no major faults (sorry - no such option on the poll) . To be fair I have done a lot of offroading over the years and most makes of vehicles exhibit faults if used rigourously - not just Land Rovers.

Well I seem to only break things when I go off road if thats any help. I had a 12' tree stuck in my CV joint on Sunday for instance, kept wondering why the bush in front wasn't getting any closer any other bumps and scrapes have been down to driver-error so not the motors fault.
EPB gave up on one hill a while back but it was probably only a matter of time before that happened. slight sensor adjustment and I was right as rain.
Not a bad beast overall

the biggest fault is the damn factory tyres!! after committing to get a set of GG's this week, I got a whopping blow out last saturday night. very messy trying to change a tyre in freezing conditions in the mud / snow in the dark, at 1400m in the middle of nowhere. kids and wife being really helpfull - asking if I had finished yet as they were getting cold!!!. That said, its the only prob Ive had off road - perhaps you should include another vote button: D3 has less faults than other 4wds if used off road. Good luck with the fishing R2D3, the GGs seem better than my last Cooper HT+ on road and so far the little bit of off road seems good Still will use Cooper STTs for serious stuff.

Very interested in the discussions re GG and HT+. I am in the process of investigating which way to go as my current HT+s are getting low The last quote I received for 18' HT+ was $385 and GG 3$90. That was early last week and the GG dealer (Queanbeyan) was waiting for delivery also. Retired Bob

I put new GG's on prior to my Red Centre trip and took two spares. no flats; just sensible tyre pressures and all was good! Great on road too!! Not one issue with the D3 after 4000kms including some real tough off road.
(some of the "nice" roads around Dalhousie Springs that I was nervous about!)

Fair amount of off-road, no major faults.
Agree with heine, could do with more options for significant off-raod work.
Maybe
1. off road work- major faults
2. off-road- no major faults
I don't know what the the current poll will tell you other than the percentage of those who take their vehicles off road. Getting there is half the fun

I'm about a 50/50 split on and off road no problems yet.
Do a lot of weekend trails and some sections can be extreme.
When looking at the other participants bouncing, and the puppies
wanting to expose the selves, you just get that permagrin.
Agree with Heine and caverD3, the off roading should have a
little more variation for a better poll. Tdi 130 conversion-full house, Disco 2, Freelander, D3 bullbar-spots-roof rack with spots-ladder-long range tank-swing out spare wheel carrier- upgraded tow bar-dash console-internal water tank-duel awnings-drawer system & T T.
