O2 are offering a free ungrade to the 3g if youre an exisiting iphone customer, they say its loyalty but online somewhere I found that someone somewhere in the uk is taking o2 to court over the initial cost on the old iphone back in March only to be updated twice, 8gb then 16gb, and now the 3g.
A lesson to us all, wait till xmas and we will get the iphone they should have released at first
What a load of tosh.
Maybe manufacturers of everything should never improve their products.
Drip feeding technology / features is common place and allows manufacturers to make money year on year and not just at launch.

Just thought I'd mention I am now on my 4th iPhone - not because anything has been wrong with them, just every time a better one came along I've upgraded - each time I have sold my old one and lost probably 40 quid or so.
Not bad depreciation considering its in my hands far more time than I care to mention (the iphone that is!!) and has certainly been far less trouble than any Nokia or Motorola I've ever had.
Roll on Christmas if the next one is coming out then, as a new toy is always welcome.

bigcarpchaser, don't know if this helps at all, but I found this on another forum regarding Exchange and iPhone?
Configuring iPhone to Connect Microsoft Exchange Active Sync
To configure your iPhone to connect to your mailbox on Exchange Server, follow these instructions:
NOTE :
It is required that the iPhone have software version 2.0. Those with versions prior to this release will not be able to configure Microsoft Exchange Activesync for the IPhone 3G.
Activesync must also be enabled for the mailbox. Please have the administrator of the account enable it before continuing.
Warning: If you choose to sync your contacts and calendar. The existing contacts may be removed and then synced with the contacts on the server. Please make sure to manually backup or export your mailbox to a pst file. Instructions here
1 Email Address: Type your primary email address. The same address used to login to Outlook
2 Username: Same as in step one. The same address used to login to Outlook
3 Password: Your exchange mailbox password. the same password used to login to Outlook
4 Tap Next
5 The iPhone will start verifying the settings.
6 A new Server field will appear.
7 Server Exchange 2007 : mail.emailplus.net
8 Tap Next
9 Choose which items to sync.
10 Tap Save

At least that's the code on the cable in the kit. Not sure you can order it on it's own but at least you've got the number. it! It's got a load of black bits on OK!!!

Just to add to my comment on it being a good bit of kit, having played with it for a couple of days now. It does have it's faults, which I knew before buying, but still wanted it for the ipod/phone/apps combination.
The only downsides are..
Not being able to MMS. Not that I used this a lot, I just have to mail pics instead.
Not being able to forward contact details as a business card. Again I never used this that often, but was useful when I wanted to.
But the keyboard is fantastic once you learn to use it, especially with my sausage fingers.
SMS format is very good with the conversation bubbles almost Yahoo messenger style
Safari browser..
Email push..
App/games/i-store..
Hopefully they have a bigger one coming out as I've nearly filled mine up..only 2gb left. Tons and tons of tunes and all my pics.
I'd recommend it to anyone who is thinking about swapping if you can learn to live without picture messaging. Needing car cleaning or detailing products.

Anyone know if there's any truth in the rumour that Orange may be able to sell the iPhone in UK soon? Rumour has it O2 didn't meet all the T+C's, which allows Apple to pick a second UK vendor. That would be great, as I live in an area that has poor O2 coverage, but good on Orange. D3 TDV6 S 2005 - TorqTune, Privacy Glass, Remote FBH, 19" HSE Alloys, Boot liner, retrofit F&R PDC, RAI
Defender 90 Truck Cab TD5 2003 - Ifor Williams back, alloys (SWMBO's toy - well, one of them )
