Dr,
dont do it !
i just did the same thing last month and i do regret it !
FFRR was a dream -it then came true, and i like every bit of it BUT i dont even dare taking it off road whereas i took the D3 serious off roading the week I got it.
plus L322 interior finish is a bit fragile compare to the robust and resistant interior of the D3, especialy it you use it a bit for touring and to carry a bit of stuff
I thing the FFRR is TOO perfect indeed
D3 IS perfect Veridis Quo

Had a shot of the FFRR and I'm surprised at your move DrD. Fantastic machine, but it's long in the tooth compared to the D3 and this shows mostly in the handling. Engine's great, but I think you're buying into a 'has-been' which is due for a major replacement. The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

I agree on the long in the tooth in many ways, but handling is fantastic compared to a D3!! When I had to return my FFRR loaner, the first fast corner I took on the D3 resulted in squealing tyres at a much slower speed (and much more alarming tilt) than the FFRR would have done. However, I do like my D3 better than the FFRR still, for lots of reasons that I've gone into at length on previous posts so won't bore you with again

Come on, someone could get a real bargain here ....EVERYTHING is negotiable and I'm much rather it went to a D3 bod than shoved in a market somewhere.....I repeat, price IS something I will negotiate on 2007 HSE Java Black.....sold

Really Hernan? Perhaps your D3 hardware/software needs looking at?
When I testdrove the D3 and the FFRR back to back (End 2006) I found exactly the opposite. The TDV8 is without a doubt the best diesel I've ever driven, but performing an identical curved acceleration in the FFRR almost caused me to lose it. The D3 handled it with ease and kept body roll to a minimum and steering accurate. I was keeping the speed the same in both cases (accelerating from 20 to 40 around a bend) yet the FFRR started some violent bodyroll and once that started the steering switched to understeer and the new leather was in serious danger of some unwanted extra tannin.
DD would you say this was true during your FFRR testdrive or have they finally upgraded the suspension? I wish I had that kind of cash lurking for your D3; it'd make an excellent second car; that's a brilliant price. Good luck in shifting it Give a man a fire and he's warm for the day. Good luck selling it - looks nice. Wood looks great too. Had a drive of a FFRR the other week... just don't get it... sorry...
If you want TDV8, why not go RRS which IMHO gives you the fantastic TDV8 performance, FFRR luxury, but you still get all the best bits of the D3. RRS seems a logical step-up, whereas FFRR feels like more luxury on older technology?
When I grow up, I'd like to have a TDV8 RRS TDV6 SE Auto, Cairns Blue

Had a RRS and after my first D3 i found it a little fragile so when it came time to change i had no hesitation to go back to the D3. I just found that day to day living with it wasn't as good as the D3, things like throwing the dogs in the back or a load of kit i was always over careful. Just my thoughts on it. Stick with the D3 better all rounder. MY08 JAVA BLACK HSE, Loads of black bits added.

Dunno whether they've changed the FFRR since the one you drove stapldm, but the stability was very good - it felt wider and less tippy around corners than the D3. It was a Gulf-spec petrol V8 HSE by the way.
However, other than that, I think the FFRR really feels like a dinosaur these days. Doctor Diesel, I would personally go for a Lexus if you're not going to take it offroad (which I suspect not that many FFRR owners will do).
I do agree with the general consensus though that there is no better all-around package than the D3. Even if you spend more. Have you considered a petrol V8?
