Disco 3 radio ghost

Absolute classic Disco 3 problem here.

Wife driving the cra on Friday, went to change channels on the radio and it would not change. The clock was stuck on 07:50 and she could not alter the volume, or change channels, or eject the CD.
She got to work, switched off the car, and removed the key and the radio continued to play!

Called Land Rover assist out, and he was able to stop the radio, but its got to go in on Monday to have a software upgrade on the radio.

Yesterday, went out to the disco, opened the glovebox and

the radio turned on!

Classic!

Was able to turn it off on the switch this time.

Ah, the old glovebox radio mod. Have you got the ipod/audio adaptor?

Twice now, when starting the car, I've had the radio forget all the pre-set stations and tone, balance settings etc. The clock also re-sets to 00:00 and the radio won't then turn off. Funny thing is - when I set the time right on the clock, the radio immediately remembers all the stations again. Now, if this was a low voltage, duff battery thing, wouldn't the radio just forget everything? Very odd.

Confused

No, us poor GS owners get no ipod/Aux cable either in teh glovebox or in the back of the centre console.

Will find out tomorrow what the reason is (I hope)

Take the infotainment fuse out, leave it for a minute, then pop it back.
Switch on radio/cd and it should then go through a self check and hopefully sort it.
It did with mine when nothing was happening with the cd unit.
slowly re-building my gallery after the wipe out !!!!

whenever my radio locks up, I simply disconnect the battery Laughing
I don't bother about looking for the fuse, sorry Very Happy

anyway, when connecting the battery again, the clock is the only thing that has had a reset Smile the radio continues to function normally again with all the presets ..

should look for that fuse though Whistle
