iPhone G3 & NEW LR D3 iPod Connection Kit

Guys,

Before I order the NEW LR D3 iPod Connection Kit, I just wanted to confirm from those that have a NEW iPhone G3 that it charges when connected to the adaptor

The new mode iPhone, the iPhone G3, can only charge on the USB pins of the dock connector, and many car chargers only charge on the FireWire pins of the dock connector.

I JUST WANT TO BE SURE IT CHARGES.

I would love to hear from anyone with an iPhone G3 and a NEW LR D3 iPod Connection Kit.

Thanks in advance,
Scott

I too have asked this question and been told that it should - but that they hadn't tried one yet. I'd also love to hear from someone who has actually used a 3G iPhone with this new kit, as I'm reluctant to spend around £150 without confirmation...

Slightly off-topic, but if it helps, I bought a Kensington £5 cigar-to-female USB connector from PC world and just plug my sync cable into that to charge the iPhone?

The 3G iPhone definitely works with the Parrot kits Thumbs Up If you want it to steam music over bluetooth though, I don't believe that's possible yet.

Normal or the old iphone does, but the NEW iphone, with 3G does'nt work with Parrott systems. Checked with Apple and Parrot. Parrot say it cannot work as Parrot is only Bluetooth enabled, and Iphone 3G works on the erm 3G network for video messaging. GREAT!!!!!!!!, should have checked before I bought it. Big Cry

My Iphone 3G connects to my LR hands free kit via bluetooth and also to my mates Parrot 3200 via bluetooth. I dont want to state the obvious but is the bluetooth switched on and been made discoverable? and have you the right Pair code? mine is 0000 but ISTR that some are 2121.

Any Bluetooth 2.0 device should connect with any other Bluetooth 2.0 device(or is that 1.1) anyway its just a thought mate, I hope it helps.

Bluetooth 2.0 according to the specs sheet

http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html

I had a look at the Parrot UK forums and they suggest checking that the bluetooth is enabled. I'm in the process of dumping vodafone for an iphone.

There appears to be an issue with bluetooth connectivicty dropping out, mainly with BMW's i drive system.

Have you tried loading the latest firmware into your parrot unit?

I know 4 people with the 3G iPhone paired and working fine with Parrot kits, so it definitely works. jcb - Whoever you spoke to at Parrot was talking balls - 3G and Bluetooth are different protocols and the 3G iPhone uses them both Thumbs Up .

For anyone with a Parrot CK3100 beware of the latest software version 4.18 - It doesn't work properly! I've got a copy of 4.17 if anyone needs it (just pm me yr email address). It's not possible to revert to a previous software version via the Parrot website, which is a bit annoying when they release buggy software Evil or Very Mad

I have used my friends' iPhone 3G with my Parrot 3200, works fine.

But still need to hear from someone who has used the iPhone 3G with a NEW LR D3 iPod Connection Kit
