sorry to be so blunt, but I still have no idea if, or when these things will be delivered? If they are to be delivered in the next week or two I am still keen. If not I am putting a line in the sand.
PS. I thought these were from the Uk?.
I wait for Simon Arch’s update. Trust me, what could go wrong?

All - apologies for the delay on the radiator guards - I have chased up with the manufacturer, and they have committed to an update tomorrow. Unfortunately there's not much else I can do at this stage, but I am keeping on top of this as best I can - hopefully won't be too much longer.

BTW - I have dealt with the supplier several times (they're based in Israel) with no problems - the gear will come.

Thanks Simon for the update - much appreciated.
I certainly find it interesting how difficult it can be dealing with other countries and business cultures. Neil's experience is certainly not 'normal' - pay first and then come and pick up the product yourself

Hello everybody,
Just got an e-mail from Simon - from the hospital. He is currently recovering in hospital - so his replies might be a bit patchy.
Here is his update:
2 things:
> 1. Rasta have said now, due to Jewish holidays - the shipment will now be end of October - this is so far removed from original indication, I'm not surprised ppl are frustrated. But, there was a delay b/w original enquiry and order placing - so things do change.
> 2. The AUST $ is now much weaker against the USD - what I'll have to pay in.

The AUD $ has really dived against the US $ (it was down to .68 yesterday vs a high of around .97 a few months ago). This means all imports are over 40% more expensive). Considering the huge discount Simon gave us, it is no wonder he is losing out.
Simon is being incredibly good to us in honoring the pricing he gave us. Even though the circumstances are not of his doing. 
I'm sure we can do something do support him later. (Check out that very interesting sill protector on his D3 )
Its interesting how these Jewish holidays can stop everything - even the mighty US economy / crisis. The bank bailout was actually delayed a whole day because of a Jewish holiday. How come our local holidays don't have this type of impact?

I can understand the frustration of late deliveries caused by overseas companie and the hurt felt by Simon.  The current financial crisis certainly does not make things easy.  
I am in the order for the long haul. No long trip into the outback until the new year.

I thought these were ordered 6 weeks ago? at the exchange rate then?, not sure why a holiday last week would matter?
cancel my order.
(It is hard to believe I had 0.96 exchange rate when I was in the States in May, compared to the Yo-Yo rates at the moment.) Trust me, what could go wrong?

Happy to stay the course. Given the money has alreaady been paid in, it would be very difficult to raise the price after the event. All very unfrotunate.
How is Simon going had his hospital stay is not too serious.

All - have had another confirmation from the supplier that they should be shipped at the end of the month.
Razzle - FYI - there was a long delay b/w the original enquiry regarding cost and availability and the order actually being placed (while Sonny organised you lot to order and pay etc) - so in that time, the availability of supply changed. However, you have been refunded.
And no - the price didn't change for anyone - I was just trying to help people out if they wanted their funds back due to the delay, I was happy to do that (and yes, it would have meant reducing my loss due to the dollar value drop).
Thanks all for your patience - they will arrive - and it's good value (IMHO)...
