SpiderBaby, at the last event people just teamed up with other people to make small groups and made their way around at a steady pace.
I for one will not be racing around as I don’t intend damaging the car. If you come along and want to team up we can do that – so long as you can put up with my lads and SWMBO.
Go on sign up, it’s a great day out

OK, OK - I've signed up...... wish I'd checked out the pictures in CFB's gallery before I did though...
Do I need a D3 or a submarine?
Anyway, WTF do I do now? I don't do PayPal, PenPal or any other form of acquaintance so will a cheque do?
If yes, then who wants it (form an orderly queue - friendly ladies to the front... ) - PM me the details and I'll bang the cheque in the post soonest.
Be gentle - it's me first time..... I drink, therefore I am.
I'm pink, therefore I'm spam.

CFB is the person you need to send payment to.. I'm sure he will be in touch very soon
If you want to get an idea of what you have set yourself up for check out some of the pictures and video's from the last event http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic20866.html

For those that are considering and not quite sure.
This is the map of the Parkwood site.
You'll see there's plenty of Blue routes [incl the network of 'fireroads'].
So great for an easy, non damaging drive around on road tyres.
Oddly, i recall more Red routes than shown on the map??
The Black routes - well you don't want to go there!

Spider, can totally agree with Andy (CFB).
Having massive amounts of negative equity on my D3, I do not risk any serious damage with it, but the private days that Andy runs are a superb way of seeing what a D3 can do without putting it or your yourself at risk.
Just got to be careful that you don't get carried away like a certain Mr P does (resulting in the refurb of Stormers) and also the guy in the nearly brand new RRS last time - how much damage must he have had on the Alloys. Java Black, 20" Stormers, Privacy Glass, Full Leather, Bright Pack, Chrome Side Tubes, Light Protectors K77TTL Now with Auotlogic power upgrade somewhere near 240bhp.

I had the tuition last time and it was great, however, like most things in my life, what i gets taught soon slips out of my mind. Any chance for people who are new or on there second trip you or some one else could mark up a map reminding us all what gear, what ratio etc etc we should be aiming for in each area. just as a rough guide. For all who have not been before, i was a newbie last time, and it was great, the photos mean i have both my brother in laws coming this time. Damage, yes, Major, no. And besides, mine is worth so little in todays credit crunch. Who cares!!!

I will provide maps but can't mark them with gear selections etc. as the choice of gear or TR setting will often depend on the weather conditions, state of the ground tyres fitted etc so it isn't a safe method,
However I will ensure there are plenty of marshals and experienced drivers on hand to advise and I will circulate the site leading groups as required. TDV6 HSE Auto in Arctic Frost - Hers

Simple, general guidance is
hill descents 1st gear
Hill ascents 2nd gear
Hill ascents (slippy) 3rd gear
Level(ish) ground 2nd gear
for FL2, 1st gear Manual or Command Shift with HDC as appropriate
The main thing to watch is the distance from the vehicle in front and build momentum prior to a difficult section, dont accelerate on bends and if in doubt, back out! TorqTune for Freelander 2 Diesel, Discovery 3 / RR Sport TDV6 & RR Sport TDV8, Defender (TD5 & Puma) - available Now!
Vehicle modifications, preparation, training and equipment also available
Autologic Diagnostics equipped!

DISCO3 and 'doing what older Disco's do" has been featured quite a bit in the mags already... so has doing things no older generation disco can do too.
