Do you mean on the back of the mirror (opposite side to the glass)? You might be looking at the light sensor - is it auto dimming?

Wasn't there also supposed to be some cool downlighting from the underside of the mirror? I've never seen any ('06 SE).

Correct - see attached blurry cellphone pic - looks like an LED for the HomeLink set-up, or maybe Night Illumination

Yeah, what's all this about? That mirror is about 3 times as chunky as mine. And with buttons??? Preposterous!

Yep, LR give the lazy American market a built-in garage door opener, actually three, on the rear view mirror.

You 'teach' the system with your existing remote(s) - then you just press the appropriate button on the mirror to open your garage door when you get home to the ranch.

Here in CA - garage door openers are pretty much standard issue - no getting out and actually lifting the door by yourself!

Never thought that the Disco3 in Blighty wouldn't have such a feature!!

What else do I have on my LR3 that you don't get in the UK I wonder?

I assume you have the 50" HD Plasma TV the same, and the built-in burger microwave and hot dog dispenser? Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter
