Which is the right tool, and will the Autologic be able to do everything the dealers can do?I see Autologic are having a sale right now - $200 off most products Remap and TTBox available for most vehicles

The main differences are T4/IDS, would have all software up to date as the dealer does, & patch updates from landrover via internet as required. The likelyhood is if IDS can't do it neither can Autologic.
Autologic is much more user freindly, & quicker to use. As it is made & reverse engineered from IDS it will always be playing catch up. It has the advantage of allowing things the aftermarket programmer thinks are a good idea, such as performance remaps, quicker service reset etc.
Horses for courses really.......................both would be good 
Cost for Autologic was dearer than IDS when I enquired, but is similar either way

Had a look at the Autilogic web site, looks like the Auto OBD II scantool gold package may be affordable at $535 US.
The only thing is from the web site I could not see what all the functions were, It would have to be able to do resets , ie, if limp mode reset, etc.
Also it may if suitable be something that D3 owners in my neck of the woods could sindercate, but at the price individual ownweship would be OK.
What does aneybody think ?

Hi Baben,
Thanks for posting the URL. 
However, I'm not convinced that it is D3 compatible. While it does mention CAN bus, I have heard of some OBDII-compliant units not being able to access the high-speed CAN bus info. Which makes it pretty useless really.
Hopefully, someone  on here will be able to come up with a definitive answer.

Hi,
I think there is confusion over autologic & these generic scan tools.
The link that Baben has posted are just obd2 scan tools which work with any generic system, they do not reset manufacturer specific codes, especially in non obd2 areas.
The vehicle manufacturers only have to comply to the OBD2 format for emission based faults, sometiomes they do have other areas which can be accessed by the generic tool, but it's very hit & miss.
Dedicated tools are written specifically for a particular vehicle / manufacturer.
