| "Rest of World" Spec Vehicles |
|
Having just moved to Spain I have been looking for a LHD replacement for my '54 HSE and I came across some Rest of World Spec cars for sale. Apart from the catalitic converter, does anyone know what else is missing (or added) with this spec of vehicle?
Thanks in advance There are two theories about how to win an argument with a woman.

I know the South African ones come without heated seats , service due indicator , auto box only (other than the S recently) and other small bits and pieces . Apparantly to keep the cost down

Hi Simon,
No idea what a 'Rest of World' spec is I thought each market was different, although you're right that in Spain the trim levels are somewhat lower than their UK equivalents
All HSE's here come with 18" wheels and leather (rouched leather being an option on new ones). I think the normal Sat-nav and the hi-line stereo (HK-7 is an option) are all standard on the HSE.
To be honest, the spec levels can vary so much from country to country that it's going to be difficult to track down an exact list. Combine this with the fact that LR chop and change things every model year and you're asking a difficult question.
In general, a HSE over here will be a slightly lower than your UK HSE, but you should be able to find one to your liking.
BTW if you're interested there is also a Spanish D3 forum (www.discovery3.net) where some of guys are more likely to be able to help you with this type of country-specific stuff. (There's also an english section on the site if you prefer speaking in the Queens English).
Cheers!

Thanks Paul, I'll have a look at the Spanish site. I know RoW spec covers a multitude of sins so I'll just have to ask more questions before I go any further.

Here in the Middle East they sell the HSE's with "full options" (and only with full options, can't get them any other way) - so I'm guessing in the rest of the world different used HSE's will have different options fitted depending on what the customer ordered?

Correct and also depending on the MY as specifications differ from each my to my.
So much for common european standardsation
Not only do we get ripped off on model spec in Ireland & Europe , we also pay more for the UK ( sub )equivalent even with all the other associated factored in.
Ball of cack.I wish they were more honest about it and just smack me in the face and then rob me whilst I lay on the ground.I'd have far more respect. Don't take life me too seriously ..... it's I'm not permanent
