Hello
As we bought our Discovery ( 06 ) used, from a local car dealer do we have access to the Land Rover Assistance scheme until the 3 year period is up. I've searched around here and there but not found an answer?
Thanks
Ant

Thanks very much for the info - I'll go ahead and cancel the Green Flag stuff from our last vehicle then.
Cheers

3 Years as long as its a car sold from the factory to a dealer in the EU, or should be.

My car is 3 years old next month and I have just had a letter from LRA inviting me to take out a years cover. 3 pages of blurb on the advertising leaflet tells me how I'll benefit from their comprehensive cover and goes on to say that, although some say freedom has it's price, with LRA it is lower than you might think
How much lower do you think
I got a quote from Europ Assist for cover very similar to LRA (includes 91 days european cover etc).
It came to £85
How much do you think LRA want for 1 years cover
are you sitting down ......
£190

But doesn't the LRA one give you replacement vehicle whilst your is fixed (& a LR based vehicle too....?) it! It's got a load of black bits on OK!!!
Campaign successful....
We D3, therefore we are.

Who comes out when LR is called out? Is it a standard mechanic, or is it a trained technician for the D3? Had it for about 4 years now over various Land Rovers and never used it. TDV6 SE Auto, Cairns Blue

Depends where you are and what time of day/night...
I've had LRA come out 5-6 times now - first time i got Mondial Assist as it was a Sunday, but the problem wasn't urgent so i told LRA to get someone out Monday with the part and then i got a LRA tech.
Last time i was in Cambridge called them at 18:00 because my windows were stuck down and a local recovery company came to take my car away. I said no, and the following day a LRA tech came out and sorted it on site

the LRA techs operate between 7 and 8, but the times are dependent on area. they also have local garages across the country to cover there out of hours and also to assist when there LRA techs ETA's are too long e.g. roadside.
With the package you are entitled to a hire car if your vehicle has to go to the dealers for repair (either driven in by you if it is deemed safe to drive or recovered if not). It is not a guarenteed Like for Like vehicle, it is subject to availability. some times it will not be a 4x4, however they will attempt to swap the vehicle as soon as they can.
hope this helps!

LR Assist also come out if you are stuck up a mountain or in the middle of a river, so I am led to believe.

Really - I thought LRA don't come out to "off road issues"? At least they wouldn't when I got stuck on a beach in my D2 once. TDV6 SE Auto, Cairns Blue

LRA will get to you if your off road and you break down... if you get yourself stuck then thats your fault and not covered normally
