No need to break into the ACM / head unit wires for that project. The connections are made direct to the aux inputs of the ACM. I used some mono 3.5mm to phono connectors, and soldered the bits and pieces together on a bit of breadboard.
The clever bits were two sound activated relays from http://www.simplecircuitboards.com/HauntedHouse.html The seller, Jeff, will only post to a US address because of previous problems posting abroad, so you'll need a friend in the states to receive and send on. bobby 'when I nod my head, you hit it' crispbox

Bobbycrispbox,
Someone may have already asked you this question? But where did you buy the carpet from as it looks a very good match. I'm looking for carpret myself for a different project.
Thanks in advance. Highbayrack, AKA; Betty Swollocks

Carpet came from audioscape - http://www.audioscape.co.uk. They also have an ebay shop under the name jamesscape / AS-Essentials http://stores.ebay.co.uk/AS-Essentials.
The match is OK but not perfect. Disco carpet is a lighter shade ("charcoal" vs "black") and seems to be of a higher quality. bobby 'when I nod my head, you hit it' crispbox
