3" doesn't sound very big for the gap under the side rubbing strips - sounds like yours are in the wrong place?

Look right to me... but then maybe the measure was only to the crease and not to the sills

The ones shown in the image of the black D3 above are 115mm (4.5" tall) which were designed to fit under the side rubbing strips in the factory recommended location.
Colour will depend on the popularity - I need orders for 6 pairs in a single colour to make them worthwhile  So if I get interest in 6 pairs in silver and 6 in orange then I can do both
