| EPB working intermittently |
|
My EPB doesn't appear to work every time I apply it at traffic lights, queues, etc. On some occasions the car just slowly rolls forward until I brake again and try it again.
Anyone else had this problem or know a fix?
I told the dealer when it had its service last week, but they couldn't replicate the fault. 2008 D3 HSE Stornoway Grey, Ebony Leather, Tin Tenter

Sometimes it needs more than a quick flick of the tab to activate... caught me out on occasion.
Try taking a little longer to apply it... 1-2 secs should be enough to make it work all the time.

Have you stopped when you apply it, or are you moving forward very slowly ?
If stopped it should work when leaver applied properly and not just flicked up, When moving it works by applying the emergency braking system - longer delay and then a "bong" followed by the mother of all stops !!
Guessing that one of the above applies to you, not stopped or just flicking the leaver . . . ? "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

I have also noticed the same on our MY07, holds fine when on, but sometimes you need to do more than flick the lever. I use the handbrake when at full stop at most junctions, force of habit, waiting to see if this lasts the distance, am hoping if it goes kerplunk it does so before the warrenty runs out!
