PartEx Prices

Having been searching for a while now I have decided to change my current disco for an HSE Very Happy

Now I have been doing a few searches online and part-ex prices are different everywhere, so what should I expect to recieve for my Disco, 05 Coil Suspension, just passed 36k miles, going on Parkers values I should expect to recieve around £14,250 or is this pie in the sky??

Any help would be much appriciated Very Happy

Sorry - looking at used prices of HSE that are going at the moment - couple on the forum, my guess is that's quite optimistic. I'm no expert though!

I would have thought 12k was a more realistic figure in the current market. That is on the assumption that the dealer can get it underwritten at all. I have heard several stories from franchised dealers (Audi & Merc) who are saying that they can't get traders to take high end p/x's at all.

Father in law has just changed his Freelander 53 plate, none of the local LR dealers would have it in part ex, even though he is retired and it had only done a few thousand miles, in the end it went for 4k in exchange for a Peugeot

I am going stop reading these 'whats it worth now' threads, it's depressing me.

Especially as the Corsa I paid 5k new for in Jan06 is still worth over £4k private sale still.

Doc, it's not a time to sell large 4X4 in the UK ........ forget about it and look forward to Christmas.

Much to my surprise, 4X4 sales are UP 14% in Oz this year ........ the image bucks the price here .

It's not just big cars, the Qashqai we bought 4 months ago as an ex demo cost new £23,500. It's now 12 months old and we got offered £10,750-£11,500K in part exchange by Land Rover dealers. Apparently even a 2.0 diesel is considered big now.

This was an underwrite by a Nissan dealer and the cheapest on their forecourts is now £16,500 (and cheapest private on AutoTrader is £15K), so they obviously want to make a good margin on a used car Shocked . The CAP price is around £15K, so they are offering well below book at the moment.

Either there is a very bad recession on the way or people are exploiting the market as they think people are desperate to sell.

I couldn't understand why people want to ditch their vehicles because fuel has gone up.
We knew people who did this during the oil-crisis of the mid seventies. They lost heaps more
changing a 2 litre Cortina for a 1.3 Escort than the fuel difference. It's not as if the next size
down won't depreciate aswell.... or runs on nothing ! Your trade values on D3's suck ......... keep and enjoy.

as soon as i can afford it i'm going to buy another. And if prices come down more i might even buy two. Second hand prices are getting better by the day (if your buying). Soon i could have 4 Land Rovers.

My defender for serious playing
my current D3
a D3 for MrsDiscoDunc
a D3 for comfy long distance playing

I'm keeping mine... at 106,000 it still drives like new, ok the seats a bit baggy and there is a lovely used feel to the car, but guess what ?? i don't care where i park it, i fill it up with crap for the dump with no stress, we went to the beach in france on holiday it it was filled with sand from the kids a quick valet at tescos from the guys who lurk in the carpark and its as good as new....

Cost to change for me would be pushing 10K thats a lot of diesel!!!

i'm aiming for 200k, if its good enough for those HA discos its good enough for me!!
