Just had the word back from Land Rover Insurance that i can fit the winch and it won't affect my cover and what’s more it won't cost me more in premiums and the reason because it is going to be hidden so therefore doesn't change the profile of the front of the car 
The down side is trying to work out which weekend i can get it fitted as the D3 is in use every weekend until mid December, looks like something is going to have to give 
I can honestly say that i now know every picture taken by WIGGS of his hidden mount in detail and hope mine turns out to be just as well fitted   Tintenter
