Scotland 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE Auto Zambezi Silver
Roof Bar Noise

Fitted a new set of roof bars on the Disco, is there a preffered potition to fit them to avoid the whistling noise Whistle when driving , or will they whistle Whistle no matter what potition i lock them in ?

any info would be great Thumbs Up

mine are fitted all the time, hardly any noise really. Look in my gallery to see where they are fitted Thumbs Up

jcb moved my front bar forward , ill test drive and see if that was the issue.

added pics of them to my gallery , watch as the prints are still wet Mr. Green

I've had my bars on since Day 1 ... 3.5 years ago.
Must say, I don't get any noise ... well not that I notice?

btw, thought there was only one fixed position for each bar ...
or is that on earlier models only????
 slowly re-building my gallery after the wipe out !!!!

Yep, they only fix in certain places (where the notches in the rails are).

And with the rubber strip removed, they whistle like crazy.

roof bar noise pales into insignificant background ambience when compared to the roar/thunder/end of humanity noise a freshly fitted Windcheetah rack makes down the M4 at 80 as I discovered after picking it up from Ken the other night, well when I say picked up I actually mean 'fitted' Thumbs Up
 global warming my ars...!!!

there best fitted as it saves room in the back , as i have the nephews and their buddys in most weekends when we go fishing ,bars wouldnt fit in the back ? and rods get fixed to the rack if we dont hav ethe rod suction mounts at hand Thumbs Up

ronp what slots are the bars you have fitted in ? maybe ill try the same ones you did and see if its a position issue Thumbs Up
